Many of the problems associated with the Annual Remuneration Review are related to the fact that the organisational structure is a dynamic phenomenon whereas the incentive budgeting process assumes a static workforce with correspondingly static reporting lines. Unfortunately, people come and go, they get promoted and move sideways, their salaries change, etc. The Kapitis PBRTM solution to this problem is to make the organisational structure static but only for this purpose. The decisions made here do not contaminate the HRIS. The Manager simply confirms which Business Units she was responsible for and who her direct reports were.
